JAY – School Committee members plan to interview three candidates Thursday who are interested in a vacant committee seat.
Candidates seeking the term vacated last month by Amy Pineau are David Nemi, Henry Bryant and Joel Pike. The person appointed by the board would hold the seat until the 2005 annual town meeting.
Interviews of the applicants start at 5:45 p.m.
Superintendent Bob Wall said he doesn’t expect the regular business portion of the meeting to begin until about 7 p.m.
On the agenda are second readings of two policies: student classroom assignment relative to kindergarten through grade eight, and injurious hazing.
During October’s meeting, School Committee members discussed some changes to classroom assignment policy including the addition of an appeal clause.
Board members Mary Redmond Luce and Gene Uhuad have been working with school staff to make changes.
Wall said he will also be talking to School Committee members about the fiscal year 2006 budget process.
