JAY – The town has received a $2,510 workers compensation insurance reimbursement for its low injury rate.
Jay voters raised $28,500 last year to pay workers compensation insurance, Town Manager Ruth Marden said.
The $2,510 is nearly a 10 percent reimbursement of the premium, she said.
“Our loss experience is very good,” Marden said. “We don’t have a lot of losses.”
Marden and town employees have made an effort to keep injuries to a minimum by implementing safe work practices, she said.
Any injuries town employees suffered were “very minor,” she said.
