FARMINGTON – The next meeting of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the hospital. The support group is for women who have or who have had breast cancer. The support group is a free service of the hospital’s Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Each meeting features presentations of special interest, as well as time of sharing personal experiences and concerns.

The support group meets the first Tuesday of each month and is facilitated by registered nurse Rita Porter, a care support nurse, and Audrey Brown, physical therapy aide. The September discussion will focus on the topic “Breast Cancer Among Us” and will be led by survivor Dottie Cayford and hospital chaplain Marriott Churchill.

After 5 Club

JAY – The Western Mountain Women’s Connections and After 5 Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 7, at LaFleur’s Restaurant. A luncheon will be held from 11:30 to 1 p.m. and a dinner from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The program is “A Stained Glass Medley, the Beauty of Stained Glass” with Cindy Curtis. Diane Muise will provide music. Rug braiding

WILTON – The Western Maine Blacksmith’s Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Wilton Historical Society.
