FARMINGTON – A Winslow man has been charged with assaulting two Franklin County jailers, spitting in the face of one of them.
Michael Eno, 19, of Winslow is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Farmington on Aug. 27 to answer those two charges, along with others in connection with incidents in Farmington last spring.
Eno was on probation from a previous charge in Somerset County when he allegedly entered several Farmington garages and took items including vehicles in April. He is charged with two counts of burglary, four counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, three counts of theft and one count of unauthorized use of property.
His attorney, Kevin Joyce, filed a motion Friday to suppress evidence stemming from an interview with Farmington police Officer Chris Chase last April in which Eno “made statements that could be used against him,” according to Assistant District Attorney James Andrews. Joyce is questioning whether Eno was in custody at the time of the interview and, if so, if proper Miranda rights were followed.
Eno is being held at the Franklin County jail, where he refused to return to his cell last week, spit in an officer’s face and struck him, tearing off his glasses and watch, Andrews said.
