JAY – Selectmen have scheduled a special secret-ballot election to fill the second selectman’s seat on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Selectman Parker Kinney announced his resignation Monday from the Board of Selectmen.

Nomination papers are available at the town clerk’s office beginning Wednesday, Sept. 15. The filing deadline for papers is 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27.

The election will fill the position until the annual election in 2006.

The Nov. 2 election will run from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jay Community Building.
