RIPTON, Vt. (AP) – Police say at least 20 people will be charged with vandalizing a historic farmhouse where poet Robert Frost once lived.
Police say 50 people, most of them teenagers, attended an underaged drinking party at the Homer Noble Farm in Ripton last month.
Between Dec. 28 and Dec. 29 beer bottles and antique furniture were smashed, windows and picture frames broken, and fire extinguishers set off, causing an estimated $10,000 damage.
Vermont State Police Lt. Bruce Melendy says more people could be cited.
Police say a 17-year-old Ripton resident planned the party and a 22-year-old Middlebury resident bought the alcohol.
Addison County State’s Attorney John Quinn has said the charges could include underage drinking, unlawful mischief and trespassing.
