WASHINGTON (AP) -Paintings by a Massachusetts Army National Guard sergeant who lost both hands in Iraq are being displayed on Capitol Hill.
Peter Damon used a brush or pencil clamped in his prosthesis to create his art work, which is being exhibited in the Russell Senate Office Building rotunda.
Damon says his art has helped his recovery.
The pastel and oil paintings include scenes of sailboats, lighthouses and beaches. Damon won praise from Senator John Kerry, who was on hand for the exhibit.
Damon also has opened a gallery in Middleborough.
