BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) – A Cape Cod man was stabbed to death early Sunday morning and another man has been charged with murder, police said.
Alexander Phillips, 19, of the Marstons Mills village of Barnstable is scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Anthony Rano, 19, of Yarmouth.
Police responding to a 911 call at about 2 a.m. found the victim at the intersection of Cammett Way and Cammett Road. Rano was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 4:30 a.m.
Phillips is also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The incident is under investigation by Barnstable police and the district attorney’s office.
