BROOKLYN, Conn. (AP) – A Killingly man was charged Sunday with attempting to kidnap and sexually assault a 6-year-old boy on a Brooklyn street. Bruce Reynolds, 58, was arrested after the boy reported that a man with a knife had approached him on Elm Street just before 5 p.m. The man allegedly ordered the boy to sit down, then cut off his shoelaces and removed his shoes and socks.
The boy was able to run away, and told his parents what happened. Witnesses were able to describe the suspect and a pickup truck that he had been driving.
Police found Reynolds less than 15 minutes later, driving that pickup near the scene.
He is charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, risk of injury and reckless endangerment.
Reynolds is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond and is due in court Monday.
