Dear Sun Spots: I am hoping that you can help me with my problem. A year ago we had someone start a chimney for us. He built 2/3 of it then stopped coming and returning our calls. We are now looking for someone who is willing to finish the job or as a last resort rebuild the whole thing. We have all the materials. Thank you. We can be reached at 743-2906. – T.G., South Paris.
Answer: Consider contacting Peter Schoonmaker of Creosote Crushers Chimney Services, 96 Crooked River Road, Otisfield, ME 04270, 743-5575.
Dear Sun Spots: First, I need to thank you very much for your past help and advice. My need to identify some large Indian, bonnet, baskets brought me in contact with Nowetah Wirick at Nowetah’s American Indian Store & Museum, 2 Colegrove Road (Route 27), New Portland, ME 04961-3821, 628-4981, or on the Web at www.mainemuseums.org (click on American Indian). Wirick is the curator of the museum and a descendent of the St. Francis Abenaki and Paugussett Indians. This gracious lady identified the baskets, where made, when (1835-1850) and by whom. With help like that through Sun Spots, I’m hoping you or readers can offer assistance once again.
I have three small iron stoves that I need to move. Two are so called soapstone stoves, because the inserts are made from that material. One has small cracks, which can be replaced. The other is a Franklin stove, marked Bangor. Since I must dispose of them do you have an address of a shop that might be interested? Many thanks. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, consider contacting Bryant Stove Works, 27 Stovepipe Alley, Thorndike, ME 04986, 568-3665. They are open Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note they would be interested in the Franklin stove but not the soapstone. You might want to consider an advertisement along the lines of free for the taking for that model. In the meantime, you will need to bring your stove to Bryant Stove Works.

Dear Sun Spots: I saw a swivel exerciser on television some time ago for the abs. It swivels from side to side and looks like a bench. It was advertised with two easy payments of $19.95 but by the time I got my pencil, the toll free number was already gone from the screen. I have not seen a repeat of this. If you or anyone else has seen this advertisement, could you please let me know. I would appreciate a call. I can be reached at 784-1618. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: Sun Spots wonders if you’re referring to The Bean, featured on www.bean.com? You can purchase it for two payments of $24.95 with free shipping and handling. To order call 800-540-2879.
