SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) – A New Hampshire man was injured when the small plane he was piloting crashed into a back yard Thursday afternoon.

Wilfred Brown, 78, of Nashua, N.H., suffered facial injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital.

The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. off Jacques Lane. There were no passengers in the four-seater plane and no one on the ground was hurt, South Windsor police said.

Neighbors who rushed to the wreckage told police the pilot was initially unconscious, but later regained consciousness.

The plane sheared off a wing when it hit a tree in the yard.
