CANTON — Christine H. LaPlante, 89, a former resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 18, at Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Canton.
She was born July 29, 1928, in Leeds, the daughter of Guy Burgess and Myrtle (Stevens) Burgess. She attended school in Leeds.
On Jan. 6, 1952, in Leeds, she married Joseph LaPlante, who passed away in 1998. Christine worked for Livermore Falls Shoe Co. She enjoyed camping, crafts, cooking and country music.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph LaPlante Jr. and wife, Judy, of North Vassalboro, Roger LaPlante of Rumford; daughters Pat Blais and her companion, Louis Sabins, of Wilton, Judy Spencer and husband, Dennis, of Turner, Brenda Hatch and husband, Allan, of Farmington, Teri Hoff and husband, Charles, of Rumford; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Arlene Burgess of Farmington and Theresa Brown of Leeds.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her son, Tommy Burgess; two granddaughters; 10 brothers; and two sisters.
