NEW GLOUCESTER – The Gray-New Gloucester support staff union on Tuesday unanimously approved a contract with the SAD 15 School Board.

Jim Fotter, Maine Education Association negotiator for the district’s custodians, cafeteria workers, education technicians and secretaries, said 42 members attending approved the contract.

Once the School Board approves the contract, a settlement will be reached of a protracted dispute between union members and the board that began two years ago. The new agreement, if ratified by the board next Wednesday, extends through the end of the 2005-06 contract year.
