TUSCON, Ariz. — Charles J. Bouchles, 95, of Tuscon, Ariz., died peacefully Monday, April 2, at the Veterans Affairs Hospice of Tuscon.

Charles J. Bouchles was born April 11, 1923, at home in Auburn, to Rose Marie Bouchles and George Joseph Bouchles who immigrated to Auburn from Greece on July 31, 1905.

Charles served in World War II under Gen. George Patton. Upon his return home from military service he went to work for the Pepsi Cola Co. for 37 years and worked as a delivery salesman until his retirement.

Charles and his wife, Connie Lillian Bouchles, were married for 66 years and resided in the Lewiston and Auburn area before moving to Reno, Nev., and then finally to Tucson.

Charles is survived by his wife, Connie; four children, Bruce Goddard from a previous marriage, George S. Bouchles of Auburn, Cindy Edwards of Mancelona, Mich., and Lori Bouchles of Tucson, Ariz. Charles is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine Herring of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Ann Deletetsky of Auburn; and a half-sister, Olympia Snowe, of Falmouth; and a half-brother, John Bouchles, of Auburn.

Charles also leaves five grandchildren, Dalton Bouchles of Lewiston, Kyle Delcourt of Livonia, Mich., Josh Unfred of Tucson, Jennifer Crowell of Auburn and Wendy Taylor of Winthrop; as well as six great-grandchildren, Megan and Jonah Crowell of Auburn, Devyn, Erica and Courtney Taylor of Winthrop and Jayce Unfred of Tucson.

Charles was predeceased by siblings James Bouchles of Auburn, George J. Bouchles of Mechanic Falls and Athena Harkins of East Auburn.

A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave., Auburn. His ashes will be interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Charles Bouchles’ honor.
