POLAND — The Poland football team won its second straight game, and in convincing fashion for the second straight time, beating Old Orchard Beach 32-0 on Friday night.

Knights (2-1) quarterback Brady Downing threw three touchdowns, two to Zach Cote and one to Isaiah Hill. Senior running back Tyler Tucci ran for more than 100 yards and had a long touchdown run.

Defensive lineman Evan Kelly and linebacker Joe Ringuette led the Knights’ defense in the shutout.

Boys’ soccer

Edward Little 4, Messalonskee 1

AUBURN — Christian Beliveau scored a pair of goals and Edward Little erased a 1-0 halftime deficit for a 4-1 victory over Messalonsee in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Hunter Smith put the Eagles up 1-0.

Jake Arel and Xavier Miranda rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece for the Red Eddies.

Lewiston 5, Cony 0

AUGUSTA — Bilal Hersi and Ahmed Safi teamed up to score four goals as Lewiston glided away with a 5-0 victory over Cony in a boys’ soccer game Friday.

Derek Metivier added another goal for the undefeated Blue Devils (5-0). Hersi, Safi, Suab Nur, Cooper Millett and Jama Abdullahi each recorded an assist.

Lewiston goalies Dido Lumu and Michael Belleau each made one save. The Blue Devils outshot Cony, 18-2.

St. Dominic 3, Poland 0

AUBURN — Gaston Fuksa knocked in two goals and Jeremy Phelan dropped in one, all in the first half, as St. Dom’s dismissed Poland 3-0 in a boys’ soccer game Friday afternoon.

Ethan Bosse and Ben Gosselin each picked up an assist for the Saints (3-1-1). St. Dom’s took 24 shots on Davin Cloutier, who made 15 saves for Poland (0-3).

Winning goalie Matt Gosselin made four saves.

Mountain Valley 4, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD — Avery Sevigny reeled off two unassisted goals and picked up an assist, steering Mountain Valley (5-2) to 4-0 victory over Dirigo (4-3) in a field hockey game at Hosmer Field on Friday afternoon.

Sevigny gave the Falcons (5-2) a 2-0 lead going into halftime before Faith Riddick and Rylee Sevigny scored in the second half. Rylee Sevigny picked up an assist on Riddick’s goal.

Winning goalie Nora Tag made three saves, as did her counterpart, Allie Dyke. The Falcons outshot the Cougars, 16-5.

Oak Hill 9, Boothbay 2

WALES — Desirae Dumais scored four goals to lead the Raiders to a 9-2 MVC field hockey win over the Seahawks in Wales.

Adelle Surette and Zoe Buteau each scored two goals, while Cassie Steckino added a goal for Oak Hill (4-3).

Chloe Arseneault had two goals for Boothbay (1-6). Maddy Barter had 14 saves.

St. Dominic 5, Sacopee Valley 0

AUBURN — Caroline Johnson turned in a hat trick and Paige Cote collected five assists as St. Dom’s rolled over Sacopee Valley 5-0 in a field hockey matchup Friday.

Johnson gave the Saints with a 1-0 lead in the first half, then added two goals in the second half. Sophia Comis and Kyle Leavitt also scored.

Winthrop 1, Spruce Mountain 0, OT

JAY — Undefeated Winthrop (7-0) had the final say when Moriah Hajduk scored the game-winning goal with 5:23 let in the first overtime to beat Spruce Mountain 1-0 and deliver the Phoenix (5-1) their first loss of the season Friday.

Maddie Perkins was credited with an assist, and Winthrop goalie Alva Agri made two saves.

Spruce Mountain goalie Melissa Bamford made 10 saves. The Ramblers outshot the Phoenix 9-2.

Yarmouth 1, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY — Lydia Guay’s unassisted goal stood up as Yarmouth (2-3) slipped away with 1-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester (2-5) on Friday afternoon.

Yarmouth goalie Cayte Tillotson needed to make just two saves despite the Patriots’ 15 shots. Gray-NG goalie Mack Baston made three saves.

Leavitt 4, Lawrence 0

TURNER — Amber Kelley scored a hat trick to lead Leavitt to a 4-0 victory over Lawrence in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Hornets led 3-0 at the half. Emily Swan closed out the half with Leavitt’s third goal.

Riley Hanson made 16 saves for Lawrence, while Leavitt’s Shelby Varney and Rhiannon Arnold combined for 11 saves.

Oak Hill 6, Winthrop 2

WINTHROP — Jae Sturtevant, Sadie Waterman and Audrey Bauer each scored two goals to lead the Raiders to an MVC girls’ soccer win over the Ramblers in Winthrop.

Paige Gonya made eight saves for Oak Hill (4-1-0).

Jillian Schmelzer scored both goals for Winthrop (4-2-0).

Skowhegan 3, Oxford Hills 2, 2OT

SKOWHEGAN — Sydney Ames scored two goals as the Indians prevailed in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference girls’ soccer game in Skowhegan.

Josie Parker also scored for Skowhegan (1-3-1).

Cecila Dietrich had a goal and an assist for the Vikings (2-2-1). Bella Divivo also scored.

Traip Academy 4, St. Dominic 2

KITTERY — Molly Sawtelle scored four goals as the Rangers (5-0) cruised past the Saints (3-1) at Kittery.

Sawtelle scored to give Traip a 1-0 halftime lead, then added three goals in the second. Abigail Pitcairn recorded five saves for the Rangers.

Lewiston 4, Cony 0

LEWISTON — Megan St. Cyr scored back-to-back first-half goals and Kelsie Lynch collected a pair of assists as Lewiston dispatched Cony 4-0 in a girls’ soccer game Friday.

The Blue Devils struck first when Maddy Foster scored an unassisted goal. She was followed by St. Cyr’s two goals, with Lynch and Lilly Gish picking up assists. The Blue Devils headed into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Sara Robert produced Lewiston’s fourth goal off a Lynch assist in the second half.

The Blue Devils outshot the Rams 23-1, forcing Cony Goalie Kiara Henry to make 19 saves.
