LEWISTON — Grace Dumond recorded two goals and an assist as Lewiston snagged a 4-2 victory over Bangor in field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Devils led 2-1 at the half. Cecilia Miller and Mariah Madore rounded out the scoring for Lewiston.
Sabrina Stern made 14 saves for Bangor, while Ashley Cronkhite had 15 saves for Lewiston.
SKOWHEGAN 4, OXFORD HILLS 1
SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan scored four unanswered goals to defeat Oxford Hills, 4-1, in KVAC field hockey action.
Jade Smedberg gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead at 16:44 of the first half before four different Skowhegan players scored, with Elizabeth York setting up two of them.
Madison Day made nine saves for Oxford Hills (3-3). Mackenzie McConnell and Rachel Tuck split time in the cage for Skowhegan (6-0), which outshot the Vikings, 13-2.
GREELY 5, POLAND 2
Wren Payne notched a hat trick as Greely dispatched Poland 5-2 in field hockey action.
Megan Beaulieu and Delia Knox also scored for the Rangers (4-1), who led 4-0 at halftime.
Sophie Patenaude got both goals for the Knights (3-2).
Ashton Sturtevant made 16 saves for Poland, while Greely’s Savannah Harvey stopped eight shots.
EDWARD LITTLE 4, HAMPDEN 0
Courtney Larson was credited with the hat trick as Edward Little snapped up a 4-0 victory over Hampden Academy in field hockey.
The Red Eddies (3-2) led 3-0 at the midpoint. Olivia Roth converted on a relay from Kiara Fournier at the 13:16 mark of the first half for Edward Little.
Goalies Isabella Gould and Taylor Guerrette combined for 20 saves for the Broncos (0-6), while goalie Elise Syphers stopped three to earn the win in net for Edward Little.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1, OAK HILL 0
Jaycee Cole scored the only goal on an assist from Calley Baker as Spruce Mountain downed Oak Hill 1-0 in girls’ soccer action.
The Raiders out shot the Phoenix by a margin of 10-6, but could not feed a goal.
Goalie Sadie Waterman had three saves for Oak Hill, while goalie Annabelle Collins repelled six to earn the win in net for Spruce Mountain.
BOYS’ SOCCER
LEAVITT 3, LAWRENCE 1
Garrett Addison marshaled a pair of goals as Leavitt secured a 3-1 victory over Lawrence in boys’ soccer action.
The Hornets stung early for a 3-1 halftime lead. Chase Comeau collected the remaining Leavitt goal.
Cody Dixon scored the lone Bulldog goal.
Goalie Dylan Hardenberg made 14 saves for Lawrence, while goalie Blaine Clark prevented five to earn the win in net for Leavitt.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
CMCC 2, HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE 0
AMHERST, MA. — Samantha Belardo scored one goal and assisted on the other in the second half to lead Central Maine Community College to a 2-0 victory over Hampshire College in Yankee Conference women’s soccer action on Saturday.
Belardo broke a scoreless tie early in the second half with a goal assisted by Tabie Tulmac. She later assisted on Deliah Schreiber’s insurance goal.
Skyler Henry made 10 saves in net to earn the shutout for the Mustangs (2-2 overall and Yankee Conference). Kat Pomeroy stopped 18 shots for the Black Sheep (0-1).
MEN’S SOCCER
AMHERST, Mass. – Jordi Valls scored a pair of goals to lead Central Maine Community College to a 5-0 victory over Hampshire College in men’s soccer action.
The Mustangs (3-1) were productive in the early going of each half, scoring two goals in the first and three in the second frame.
Goalie Dalton Wing made eight saves for CMCC, while goalie Felix Hunt stopped 12 for the Frogs (0-1) in the losing effort.
