BATH — Ginny Twitchell and Ava Gagnon both scored first-half goals and the Leavitt defense shut down host Morse for a 2-0 victory in KVAC field hockey action on Monday.
Paige DeMascio only had to make save for the Hornets (4-2) to secure the shutout. Rebecca Click made four saves in net for the Shipbuilders (4-2), who were dealt their first home loss of the season.
Leavitt finished the game with an advantage in shots on goal (6-1) and corners (8-2).
Mountain Valley 7, Telstar 0
BETHEL — From start to finish, Mountain Valley had Telstar’s number Monday during its 7-0 win in a Class C South field hockey game.
Avery and Rylee Sevigny each scored two goals to pace Mountain Valley (6-2), with added goals from Ariana Viger, Bre Burgess and Faith Riddick. Mountain Valley out-shot Telstar 23-1.
Telstar (0-7) goalie Perry Morton saved 13 shots, while Abby Gauvin saved one for the Falcons in the win.
Winthrop 4, Lisbon 0
LISBON — Maddie Perkins scored three goals to pace Winthrop past host Lisbon, 4-0, in MVC field hockey action on Monday.
Gia Francis also scored for the Ramblers (8-0), and Moriah Hajduk notched as assist.
Aiva Agri made five saves in goal to earn the win for Winthrop, while Rebecca Budeshiem stopped nine shots for the Greyhounds (3-4).
Oak Hill 1, Spruce Mountain 0
WALES — Mikayla Culp scored with 9:42 left in the first half to lift the Raiders (5-3) to the MVC victory in Wales.
MacKenzie Thibeault made 11 saves in front of a defense led by Lexi Faucher, Angela Strout, Cassidy Spencer and Sophie Childs.
Melissa Bamford made six saves for Spruce Mountain (5-2).
Girls’ soccer
Winthrop 7, Wiscasset 0
WINTHROP — Jillian Schmelzer and Aaliyah WilsonFalcone scored three goals apiece as the Ramblers shut out visiting Wiscasset 7-0 in MVC girls’ soccer on Monday.
Hanna Eason added a goal for the Ramblers (5-2), while Brooke Burnham made six saves.
Elizabeth Souza made 10 saves for the Wolverines (0-7).
Hall-Dale 4, Mt. Abram 3
SALEM — Hall-Dale scored three goals in the final four minutes of the first half, then again midway through the second to edge Mt. Abram 4-3 in MVC girls’ soccer on Monday.
Alice Cockerham scored a pair of goals two minutes apart early in the first half for the Roadrunners (6-1), who suffered their first loss of the season.
Kaden Wills tied the game with two goals a minute apart for the Bulldogs (4-2), and Iris Ireland gave Hall-Dale the lead a minute later.
Cockerham completed a hat trick and tied the game in the first minute of the second half, but Madisyn Smith scored the game-winner for the Bulldogs in the 23rd minute of the half.
Emily Kidd made 18 saves for Mt. Abram, while Maggie Gross stopped seven shots for Hall-Dale.
Boys’ soccer
Greely 4, Gray-New Gloucester 0
GRAY — Visiting Greely got goals from four different players to break open a scoreless game at halftime and lift the Rangers to a 4-0 victory in WMC boys’ soccer action on Monday.
Jonathon Piesik, Aidan Michaud, Aiden Smith and Pietro Ambrosini all scored for the Rangers (2-2-2), while Schuyler Wetmore made three saves in the shutout.
Brannon Gilbert and Kyle Curtis combined to stop 16 shots for the Patriots (0-4-1).
