AUBURN — Cecile J. Leclair, 98, of Auburn passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Sarah Frye Home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on May 29, 1920, a daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Philion) Sirois. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. On Sept. 2, 1942, she married the love of her life, Rodolphe Leclair, in Lewiston at Holy Cross Church. They were happily married for 61 years until his passing in 2000.

Besides raising her young family, she also worked as a stitcher in the shoe manufacturing mills in the Twin Cities, working 20 of those years at Hallowell Shoe in Auburn.

Cecile is survived by two daughters, Anita Marquis and husband, Don, of Jay and Jeanne Wentworth and husband, Darrell, of Lisbon; one son, Robert Leclair, and wife, Kathy, of Lewiston; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in the Upper Church.
