SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Cecile Therese Gagnon passed away Friday, Sept. 7, in Spotsylvania, Va., where she made her home for the past four years.
Formerly of Townsend Brook Road, Auburn, she was born in Lewiston on Dec. 4, 1925, the daughter of Ernest J. Desjardins and Yvonne L. Roy. She attended St. Peter’s/St. Dominic’s High School and Acme Business School.
On Feb. 9, 1946, in Portsmouth, N.H., she married the love of her life, Joseph Arthur Gagnon Jr., of Auburn and they made their home in the family neighborhood at Auburn Plains. After her marriage, Cecile devoted her life to making a loving home for her family.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Cecile is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Gregoire of Spotsylvania, Va., Paulette and husband, Roland Russell, of Williamstown, Vt., and Kathleen and husband, Richard Gielarowski, of Monmouth; sister, Jeanne Cote, of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Ella (Midgie) Nolin of Waldorf, Md., and Gisele Gagnon of Auburn; grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Jimmy Ray King, of Spotsylvania, Va., David Glazier of Spotsylvania, Va., Jennifer Beaudoin of Auburn, Leah Gielarowski of Lewiston, Anna and husband, Aaron Ouellette, of Litchfield; great-grandchildren, Joseph and wife, Jeanne, Matthew, Timothy, Emily, Mason, Logan, Gage, Kolton and Kaleb; great-great-grandson, Zane; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving Joe, she was predeceased by her parents; sister, Irene Bonneau; and brother, Raymond Desjardins.

A celebration of Cecile’s life will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at The Fortin Group/Auburn. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 4 p.m. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
