BETHEL — The Second Nature Adventure Challenge, a program of Maine West and Mahoosuc Pathways, has announced the Fall 2018 Photo Contest.
Second Nature is a walking and hiking program, comprised of nine hikes in the Maine West region of Oxford Hills, Bethel and Rumford. The photo contest encourages people to get on the trails, take pictures and upload them to the website for public voting.
The trails vary in terrain and difficulty, from riverwalks and pathways, to moderate foothills trails, to more difficult mountain hikes. Participants can upload up to three of their favorite photos, and there will be winners in three categories: Best People and/or Critters, Best View, and Best Youth Submission (17 and younger).
First-place prizes from True North Adventureware in Bethel are an Osprey daypack and Leki hiking poles. Second- and third-place winners will take home a Second Nature neck gaitor/headband. Winning photos will be chosen by popular vote and photos can be shared on social media.
Second Nature Adventure Challenge is open to people of all hiking and walking abilities, and entering the photo contest is optional. The Second Nature Adventure Challenge is supported by Maine West and the Quimby Family Foundation. Information about the contest and the Second Nature Adventure Challenge can be found at secondnaturemaine.com.
