Sylvio Martin
RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Sylvio Martin was celebrated Wednesday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server and Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Fly Like A Bird.” Readings were done by his nephew, James Murphy and his son-in-law, David Hopkins. The eulogy was given by his nephew, Richard Murphy. Pallbearers were John Napper, Alan Sleight, Tom Child, David Hopkins, David Napper, James Murphy, Richard Murphy and Timothy Murphy. William Murphy was an honorary bearer. Spring interment will be at St. John Cemetery. Military Honors were rendered by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program. A reception followed in the parish hall. Services were under the care of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
