WINTHROP — Natalie Frost drained 11 points to lead Winthrop to a 43-41 victory over Lisbon in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Ramblers (1-0) got off to a strong start, leading 18-8 lead after the first quarter. Aaliyah WilsonFalcone chipped in nine points.
Charlee Cox scored a game-high 12 points for the Greyhounds (0-1). Lisbon made up ground with a six-point margin in the third quarter and another two in the final frame, but came up two points short at the final buzzer.
Mt. Ararat 39, Leavitt 30
TOPSHAM — The Eagles recovered from a 9-2 deficit after the first quarter to defeat the Hornets on Friday.
Theresa Breed scored nine points to lead Mt. Ararat, and Grace Liedman added five points and nine rebounds.
Kayleigh Gilbert scored eight points for Leavitt.
Rangeley 61, North Haven 22
NORTH HAVEN — Olivia Pye scored 16 points and had seven steals to lead the Lakers to the East/West Conference victory Friday.
Brooke Egan, Winnie LaRochelle and Lauren Eastlack each scored 10 points for the Lakers (1-0).
Layla Sparhawk scored 10 points for North Haven (0-10).
Skowhegan 53, Mt. Blue 28
FARMINGTON — Annie Cook scored 17 points and Sydney Ames added 14 as the Indians rolled to a KVAC girls’ basketball victory over the Cougars on Friday.
Jaycie Christopher added 11 points for Skowhegan (1-0).
Lexi Mittelstadt scored 12 points to lead the Cougars (0-1).

KITTERY — Skye Rogers scored 14 points and the Saints led 46-25 after three quarters en route to a 52-43 girls’ basketball win Friday.
Rebecca Zimmerman added 12 points for St. Dom’s.

BUCKFIELD — Kennedy Savoy had 15 of of her game-high 20 points in the second half as Valley erased a six-point halftime deficit for a victory Friday.
Jillian Miller had seven points in the win.
Katy Henderson led the Bucks with 10 points, while Hannah Shields chipped in eight.
Fryeburg 44, Poland 41
FRYEBURG — Sierra Lyman had 16 points to lead Fryeburg to a 44-41 victory in a WMC girls’ basketball contest Friday.
Kylee Emery added 10 points for the Raiders.
Allie Ferland and Sophie Vallee each had nine points for the Knights in the losing effort.
Bangor 57, Lewiston 35
BANGOR — Abby Fleming paced Bangor with 12 points as the Rams defeated Lewiston 57-35 in girls’ basketball action Friday.
Rowan Andrews chipped in 12 points for Bangor.
Emily Strachan had 11 points for the Blue Devils.

Leavitt 70, Mt. Ararat 65
TURNER — Wyatt Hathaway went 7-of-10 from the line in overtime and garnered a game-high 31 points to lead Leavitt to a 70-65 victory over Mt. Ararat in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
Cole Morin produced a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Hornets (1-0). He also hit a 3-pointer send the game to overtime. Joziah Learned added 10 points and three rebounds for Leavitt.
Jared Balser scored a team-leading 14 points, while Austin Damon chipped in with 13 points for the Eagles (0-1) in the losing effort.
Bangor 83, Lewiston 60
LEWISTON — Matt Fleming had 21 points to lead Bangor to a 83-60 boys’ basketball win over Lewiston on Friday.
Damien Vance chipped in 16 points, while Issac Cummings had 15 and Henry Westrich finished with 14 for the Rams.
Hassan Hussein led Lewiston with 27 points and Yasin Mohanud had nine points.
Fryeburg 59, Poland 46
POLAND — Oscar Saunders netted a game-high 19 points to power Fryeburg to a 59-46 victory over Poland in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
Saunders scored 11 points in the third quarter to break the Raiders (1-0) out of a 24-24 halftime tie. Nate Knapp chipped in 10 points for Fryeburg.
Isaiah Hill tossed in three field goals, including two from 3-point range, and four free throws to lead the Knights (0-1) with 12 points in the losing effort.
Gray-New Gloucester 48, Lake Region 43
GRAY — John Martin scored 15 points as the Patriots defeated Lake Region on Friday.
A close game throughout, and tied at 23-23 at halftime, Gray-New Gloucester pulled away with an 11-7 fourth-quarter advantage.
Evan Willey hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points for Lake Region.
Hall-Dale 88, Telstar 26
BETHEL — Ashtyn Abbott scored 27 points to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC boys’ basketball win in Bethel.
Alec Byron added 22 points for Hall-Dale (1-0), while Austin Stebbins chipped in 10.
Telstar (0-1) was led by Brayden Stevens with 10 points.
Monmouth 64, Oak Hill 38
MONMOUTH — Connor Davies scored 24 points and Gabe Martin added 19 as Monmouth opened the boys’ basketball season with a 64-38 win over Oak Hill on Friday.
Davies pulled down 12 rebounds and Martin hit four 3-pointers for the Mustangs (1-0). Dylan Lajoie dished out seven assists.
Ausborn Boston, D’Andre Daniels and Adam Caron topped the Raiders (0-1) with six points apiece.
Spruce Mountain 60, Mt. Abram 19
SALEM — Andrew Shaw sank six field goals and two free throws for 14 points as Spruce Mountain sailed to a 60-19 victory over Mt. Abram in boy’s basketball action Friday evening.
The Phoenix (1-0) jumped out to a 22-4 lead in the first quarter and 36-12 at the midpoint. Kayle Stewart pitched in with 11 points on four baskets and two free throws, including a 3-pointer, for Spruce Mountain.
Nate Luce led the Roadrunners (0-1) with eight points on three field goals, including two from 3-point range, in the losing effort.
Traip 75, St. Dominic 38
KITTERY — Jordan Polanco notched a game-high 21 points in a balanced attack as Traip ran away with a 75-38 victory over St. Dom’s in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Rangers (1-0) led 38-20 at the half. Will Stuart contributed 17 points for Traip. Polanco and Stuart had a pair of 3-pointers each.
Ethan Bosse tossed a team-leading 17 points for the Saints (0-1) in the losing effort.
Valley 57, Buckfield 44
BUCKFIELD — Joey Thomas recorded a team-leading 13 points in a balanced attack as Valley secured a 57-44 victory over Buckfield in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Cavaliers (1-0) pulled ahead in the third quarter with a 22-12 run. Thomas Bishoip and Keegan Fanham each posted 11 points for Valley.
Noah Wiley tabulated a game-high 16 points for the Bucks (0-1) in the losing effort.
Winthrop 74, Lisbon 34
LISBON — Senior center Cameron Wood collected a double-double with a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds as Wintrhop cruised to a 74-34 victory over Lisbon in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Ramblers (1-0) went on a 22-2 tear in the second quarter for a 33-11 halftime lead. Cameron Hachey contributed 15 points for Winthrop.
The Greyhounds played to within two points in the first quarter before Winthrop took over. DJ Douglass scored a team-leading 19 points for Lisbon in the losing effort.
Mountain Valley 69, Dirigo 42
DIXFIELD — Senior shooting guard Taylor Pelletier compiled an impressive game-leading 27 points to lead Mountain Valley to a 69-42 victory over Dirigo in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Falcons (1-0) made effective use of the full-court press and turned up the heat in the second quarter, taking a 36-19 lead at the break. Senior point guard Will Sorensen added 15 points for Mountain Valley.
Senior center Jeremy St. Germain tagged six field goals and two free throws to account for a team-leading 14 points for the Cougars (0-1) in the losing effort.
