FARMINGTON — A Franklin County judge sentenced a Jay woman Wednesday to one year in prison for selling cocaine and heroin from her apartment July 30, 2018, according to court documents.

Angie Braley, 38, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to a felony charge of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and violation of condition of release.

Braley was also sentenced to 30 days on the violation conviction, to be served at the same time as the drug sentence. She faced 10 years in prison on the felony charge and six months on the violation.

In the plea agreement, the state dismissed two felony drug charges on which Braley was indicted in October that were punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Deputy District Attorney James Andrews said Jan. 31 a warrant was executed at an apartment at Jay Hill Apartments on July 30, 2018. Heroin and cocaine were subsequently seized at that apartment.

The drugs were individually packaged for sale, and messages on telephones seized at the apartment identified Braley as being involved in drug trafficking, Andrews said.

When police and state drug agents searched the apartment, they found 121.2 grams of suspected heroin and 85.2 grams of crack cocaine, according to a court affidavit filed by an agent with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

A co-defendant in the case, Darnell Smith, 21, of the Bronx in New York pleaded guilty in November to selling cocaine from the apartment leased to Braley. He is serving a four-year prison sentence.
