BRUNSWICK — Edward Little senior Jillian Richardson dominated the distance runs at the KVAC Class A indoor track and field championships at Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Richardson set a KVAC indoor record by finishing the girls’ 1-mile in 5 minutes, 23.07 seconds. Richardson also won the 800-meter run (2:27.16) and the 2-mile (11:32.56).

Richardson’s three wins helped the Red Eddies (104.5) place second to Messalonskee (119.5). Lewiston was fifth and Oxford Hills game in seventh.

Brunswick boys’ KVAC title (189), while Lewiston (92) was second and Edward Little finished fifth.

The Leavitt boys (72) were runners-up to Belfast (99) in the KVAC B meet.

Lewiston’s Kamundala Crispin claimed the boys’ triple jump championship with a jump of 44 feet.

The Blue Devils also won the boys’ 4×200 relay. Edward LIttle’s Ben Strong placed first in the 55-meter hurdles (8.74 seconds).

Julia Berube (9.16 seconds) gave the Edward Little girls another champion by winning the girls’ 55 hurdles.

The Lewiston girls took the top three spots in the shot put: Benedict Citenga (35 feet, 4.5 inches) took first, followed by Laila Bunnitt (32-05) and Sydney Roy (30-10). Edward Little’s Kimberly Torres (29-05) was fourth.

Oxford Hills’ Halle James won the girls’ 55-meter dash with a time of 7.69 seconds.

Garrett Jabbusch and Jonathan Schomaker each won two events for the Leavitt boys in the Class B championships.

Jabbusch won the 55-meter (6.89 seconds) and the 200-meter (24.52) dashes. Schomaker took first in the wheelchair 1-mile (9:36.79) and 400-meter (2:09.39).

The Leavitt boys also won the 4×200 relay.

Aaliyah Trask had a pair of second-place showings for the Leavitt girls, who finished tied for seventh (Winslow edged Belfast, 98-96, for the conference title).

Trask was the runner-up in the 55-meter dash (7.68 seconds) and the 200 (28.11).
