HOULTON, Maine (AP) — A Maine man accused of helping to conceal evidence in a triple slaying in northern Maine has pleaded not guilty.
Robert Strout of Orient appeared Monday in District Court in Presque Isle via video link from the Aroostook County Jail, where he was being held.
Police say the 63-year-old Strout helped Thayne Ormsby after Ormsby allegedly stabbed Jeffrey Ryan, Ryan’s 10-year-old son and neighbor Jason Dehahn in Amity. Strout told police he feared for his life when he gave assistance, including driving Ormsby to New Hampshire.
Strout was arrested Friday on charges of hindering apprehension and arson. A judge set bail at $20,000 cash or $50,000 in property.
