RUMFORD — Mountain Valley locked up its fifth Campbell Conference Class B championship in seven years Saturday, shutting out Wells, 18-0, at Chet Bulger Field.

It was the seventh shutout of the season for the Falcons (11-0), who held the Warriors (9-2) to 87 total yards, including minus-3 on the ground in the second half.

Josh Allen, Tyler Mason and Cam Kaubris each had a short touchdown run for Mountain Valley.

Kaubris led the defense with an interception. Mountain Valley sacked Wells quarterback Paul McDonough four times.

Mountain Valley led 12-0 at the half and survived a Wells drive in the third quarter that twice saw the Warriors lose a TD by virtue of a holding penalty.

That series ended with the pick by Kaubris, whose 99-yard runback for an apparent score also was shortened due to a flag.
