Board: Sabattus selectmen
Met: Tuesday night
Loesberg’s last meeting
Issue: Selectman Paul Loesberg didn’t run for re-election. He was honored with a plaque and thanked for his service on the board, as well as on the Charter Commission, Planning Board and Sabattus Lake Commission.
Up next: New Selectmen Andre Marquis and Mark Duquette, who won re-election, will be sworn in Dec. 7 at the next regular meeting.
Town manager update
Issue: Nine months ago, Sabattus decided to forgo a traditional town manager relationship and contracted with Municipal Resources Inc. out of New Hampshire to supply Town Manager Richard Bates for a year.
The scoop: MRI President Don Jutton visited the board to check on the arrangement. He heard that at least one selectman would like a little more communication. Jutton also recommended areas the town could look at to save money, like having office staff work five days a week but only be open to the public three days per week.
Up next: No movement on his ideas, for now.
New committee
Issue: The town needs an Ordinance Review Committee to suggest new ordinances and to review old ones.
The scoop: It has a mission; now it just needs the people.
Up next: Selectmen would like five to seven residents to serve as members. Anyone can apply at the Town Office before Dec. 7.
