DIXFIELD — The Western Foothills Regional School Unit 10 board is expected to act on the extension of its superintendent’s contract when it meets Monday night. The board will also discuss a certification plan for all 250 region teachers.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Meroby Elementary School in Mexico.
Prior to the regular meeting, the board’s Finance Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. to review the funds spent so far this school year.
Superintendent Tom Ward said with 40 percent of the 2010-11 school year left to go, funding is on tract. The board will begin its deliberations on a budget for 2011-12 at a special meeting set for Jan. 31 at the region’s central office in Dixfield.
Other agenda items for Monday’s board meeting include a request by Dirigo High School French teacher Mary Kaubris to take a group of high school students from all three regions of the district to Paris next year, two health and health services related policies, and reports and announcements by all four principals of the schools in the Mountain Valley region.
Ward said the board will be asked to approve an extension of his contract through fiscal year 2014. A salary figure will be set during the development of the 2011-12 operating budget.
Seven people will be appointed to various fall coaching positions.
