Works by members of the the Bowdoinham Guild of Artisans is featured in an exhibit opening on Friday, Feb. 26, at the The Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath. In its 17th year, the guild is a collective of artists promoting artistic excellence and producing an impressive spectrum of work including painting, photography, fiber arts, woodworking, ceramics, stained glass, and jewelry.
The Bowdoinham Guild exhibit will be the first that CCAC has presented since renovating its gallery space, which is housed in the annex adjacent to its main theater space. In January, a team of volunteers, led by CCAC board member and gallery curator Kimberly Becker, repainted walls, sanded and painted the floor, and built and installed movable walls that will allow for more artwork to be shown at one time.
CCAC will host a gallery opening event with the Bowdoinham Guild from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26. The event will take place mostly outdoors, with fire pits for warmth and light refreshments served. Four people will be allowed to enter the gallery at a time, and face coverings must be worn by all attendees. The event is free to attend, but guests must register in advance. Tickets and more information can be found at chocolatechurcharts.org.
The Bowdoinham Guild of Artisans show will be on display at the Chocolate Church Arts Center until March 29. While the work is up, CCAC will also hold periodic Facebook live events with artists speaking about their creations.
The Chocolate Church Arts Center is located at 804 Washington St., Bath. For more information, visit the website or Facebook or call the box office at 207-442-8455 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
