Cal Thomas: Trump should follow LBJ’s example
A Trump withdrawal from the 2024 race would open up the field to candidates with less, or little, political and personal baggage and help voters to focus more on important issues than Trump’s caustic personality.

Rich Lowry: Alvin Bragg prepares to cross the Rubicon
All signs point to Bragg, the progressive prosecutor in Manhattan, indicting Donald Trump for his 2016 hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels.

Robert Stone: Power corridor economically, environmentally good for Maine
With our energy bills so high right now, I hope voters will take a fresh look at the New England Clean Energy Connect. The benefits of the project are twofold. Not only would it help reduce energy costs because it would provide us with another option for the New England grid, it would also help keep our […]

Paul and Angela Murphy: Resistance to Franco Center’s name change is well placed
It must be abundantly clear to the proponents of the name change for the Franco American Heritage Center that the change to Riverfront will not succeed. Deanne Danforth: FOX News wily, deceptive, true to its name
In 2022, University of California at Berkeley got hundreds of FOX News and CNN viewers to participate in a study examining the effects of viewing Fox News programming on a regular basis. Maura Murphy: Franco Center demonstrates importance of names

While it has been argued that names are not important, anyone […]

In rebuttal: Edmund Lewis: ‘CMP is not the enemy’
I write in reply to a letter by John Neal of Greene (“Our Power initiative deserves Mainers’ support,” March 11). John’s letter condemns Central Maine Power for its recent “egregious and painful” rate hike. I feel it is necessary to disagree and point out to Mr. Neal and many other fellow Maine CMP customers that […]
