Marc Jalbert: Frustrated by repetition in local news broadcasts
The local newscasts on TV begin with the anchor’s dissertation of upcoming stories for the telecast. Following that, the anchor begins with the first story, repeating what was said in the intro. Then the story goes on to a reporter who, you guessed it, rehashes the story for the third time. And it doesn’t stop […]

Jon St. Laurent: Holiday season offers some ‘stupor-hero holiday grifts’
And people thought Melania Trump’s “limited one-time only” Christmas non-fungible token crypto “cobalt blue eyes” stunt exactly one year ago was tacky? Well, her husband Donald Trump’s Dec. 15 “major announcement” of his digital delusional svelte “only $99” superhero NFT trading cards trumps even that holiday grift. Did President Trump inherit the strong economy that President Obama left behind? Yes, he did. William LaRochelle: ‘No surprise’ about no bombshells in JFK documents
In an article titled “Newly released JFK documents point to what the CIA was hiding,” Michael Isikoff, chief investigative correspondent at Yahoo! News, states that much of what they contain relating to President Kennedy’s assassination is relatively insignificant: No “bombshells that prove an elaborate conspiracy to kill” him. That’s no surprise to me. Kennedy’s assassin, […]

Cal Thomas: I (used to) love New York
So many songs have been written about New York and the love people used to have for it. Some still do love it. These are the diehards who seem to think it’s not as bad as one sees on TV or in The New York Post, the only newspaper that pays attention to the crime spree and the criminals who roam the streets, shoplifting and attacking innocent people.
