Tom Fallon: America needs a woman as president
As a male American citizen I wish to state sincerely that I support a woman for president of our nation. I state this first because so many women have positively affected me during my lifetime. I also state this because we in America still are discriminating against women as we manage our nation in a […]

Jim Delamater: Vote yes on 2, protect elections from foreign interference
I am writing to urge my fellow Mainers to join me in voting yes on ballot Question 2 on Nov. 7, to protect our elections from foreign government interference. It is outrageous that we would continue to permit foreign governments — and entities that they own, control or influence — to make campaign contributions to […]

Heidi Brooks: Mayor Sheline ‘a strong advocate for Lewiston’
Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline deserves to be reelected this November. He is a strong advocate for Lewiston. He supports small businesses and is very visible in our community. Now it’s gotten to the point where it has become just “more of the same.” Republicans have done their best to make it harder […]

Donald Michaud: Lewiston inn could be utilized for sheltering homeless
It is very unfortunate that the Lewiston Planning Board is obstinate in its justification for denying the Ramada Inn for sheltering the homeless. Its members should be considering solutions for how to make it feasible for the homeless, instead of kicking the problem of a solution into the future. One option would be to divide […]

Bill Webster: Parks has shown strong leadership on Lewiston school panel
I am pleased to endorse Megan Parks for the Lewiston School Committee at-large seat. Megan was first elected in 2014 when I was school superintendent. From the moment she was sworn in, she became a strong advocate for students, staff, and community. Megan is a common sense leader who puts aside partisan politics. She works […]
