Lewiston City Council to resume in-person meetings in September
After operating remotely for meetings since March, 2020, the Lewiston City Council will return to in-person meetings starting on Sept. 7. The council chambers have been modified with plexiglass panels and distanced seating to promote public safety, and councilors said they’re eager to resume public meetings at City Hall.

A charter review committee is likely to recommend the city of Lewiston move to staggered terms for all elected officials. The committee also supports the idea of a nine-member council, adding two at-large positions. Such moves would likely require an elected Charter Commission.
