Norm Gellatly: Could the DOJ put Trump out of commission?
Well, what do you know. The buffoon has reappeared on the scene to deliver startling news: the 2020 election was stolen. From this ridiculously stale and false declaration, I guess we are in for another battering of monotonous media coverage surrounding this dangerous imposter. With a lifelong inability to learn, grow, and nature, his rants […]

Tabitha King: Laurel Libby has my vote
Whether a red state or blue, we need to be business-friendly. Just look around. Anyone seeing businesses that have closed over the past 2 1/2 years? I certainly do. Restaurants, clothing stores, hardware stores, and many more have all closed. If we are to keep our youth in Maine and prosper, Maine needs to be […]

Yet progressives are disappointed because they turned out in record numbers in a single election two years ago and don’t yet have everything they wanted?

In rebuttal: Kate Harvey: So many people have forgotten where we came from
Regarding the July 26 column “Street Talk: Bad vibes in Lewiston, then and now,” my Irish family has been in Lewiston since before your paper was established and I’m here to set things straight. The disparaging rhetoric surrounding downtown Lewiston originated as anti-Irish sentiment and Francophobia, which was due to many factors but mainly xenophobia […]

In rebuttal: Dan Bilodeau: Happy to explain why I’m so involved
Mr. Roland Rancourt Jr. (“Auburn Water District wants facts? Here are some, Aug. 9) could benefit knowing that since 2004 my once 18-acre, now 16-acre, property on the North Auburn Road (not the West Auburn Road) is occupied by a two-family home where I raised my family. It is where I still live, also offering […]
