    For Maine snowmobile clubs, the season starts in October

    Maine has about 14,000 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, used by an estimated 100,000 riders from here and away. A handful of volunteers from each of the 280 clubs across the state make sure the trails are safely maintained and groomed.

    Norway Library sponsors literary-themed public art

    Norway Memorial Library unveils a community art mosaic project, made possible by the Maine Public Library Fund, a donation program included on the Maine Income Tax form – Form 1040ME. Twelve volunteers gathered over a period of eight months to smash colorful china and find inspiration from traditional and modern literary classics.

    District, partners make sure students accommodated after fire

    Paris Elementary School closed last week after fires were set in two bathrooms Tuesday morning. One of the fires caused significant smoke damage to the area where 5th and 6th grade classes are held and that section of the school remains closed while clean-up and repairs are done this week.
