Steve Roderick and and three partners plan to open a laundromat at 339 Main Street in Oxford at the old Oxford Plains Snowtubing Park site. Roderick appeared before the Board to request that the towns $36,000 impact fee be waived.

Harrison eyes location for public works building

Harrison officials are considering building a new public works facility on Norway Road. Selectmen also discussed expanding cable service coverage and services.

Oxford grapples with transfer station, waste water challenges

A compactor and a stainless steel trailer for the Transfer Station will cost $139,900. The Waste Water Treatment Facility can no longer distribute treated waste for agricultural purposes and needs to conduct a research study for alternative procedures.

Municipal Agenda: Oxford Special Town and Selectmens’ Meetings Oct. 17

Oxford is holding special town meeting on Oct. 17 at 6p.m. for voters to authorize the selectmen to spend $139,900 from undesignated fund balance for the purchase of a trash compactor and steel transfer trailer. Board of Selectmen recommends a yes vote. The regularly scheduled Selectmen meeting will follow. Both meetings will take place at Oxford Town Hall, 85 Pleasant Street.
