Photos: World champion pétanque player Marco Foyot teaches Augusta enthusiasts how to up their game
World Champion Marco Foyot, of France, visited the Mill Park pétanque courts Friday in Augusta for a demonstration and clinic. In pétanque, players aim to beat opponents by throwing boules as close to a target ball as possible while standing in a circle with both feet on the ground. Foyot is a seven-time French national champion in the sport and also won the country's junior championship twice. As a member of France's triples team in World Pétanque Championship competition, he has won a gold, a silver and four bronze medals. All photos by Joe Phelan.

Police investigate report of stolen RV from overflow lot used by Manchester dealer
The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate the camper, which was reported missing from an overflow lot used by Scott's Recreation on Western Avenue. It had been brought to the RV dealership to be serviced and winterized.

Former Athens fire chief indicted on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor
Sean Boyd, 46, of Athens has been indicted on charges he sexually assaulted a child in 2014, among other indictments handed up last week by a Somerset County grand jury.
