Selectmen reject grant for EV charging station in downtown Farmington
The Downtown TIF Committee unanimously voted that EV charging stations not be installed in the municipal parking lot accessed from Main Street or Broadway.

Farmington sewer rates to increase, first time since 2018
Selectmen approved a rate of $48 for a minimum of 500 cubic feet per quarter and $9.60 per 100 cubic feet thereafter, a 20.3% increase over last year's rates of $39.90 for a minimum of 500 cubic feet per quarter and $7.98 per 100 cubic feet thereafter.

Farmington voters elect two returning officials, two new ones
Stephan Bunker retained his seat and Dennis O'Neil replaced Scott Landry on the Select Board while incumbent Scott Erb and T. "Will" Jones were elected to three year terms on the Regional School Unit 9 board of directors.

Added to Public Works was $98,730, to allow two more new hires. Also, voters added $800 to administration and cut $8,280 from the library, the latter at the board president's request.

Farmington elections are March 27
In the municipal elections, held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Center, two seats on the Select Board and two directors for Regional School Unit 9 will be determined. Polls will close promptly to give time for ballots to be counted before clerks move to the annual Town Meeting which starts at 7 p.m. at Bjorn Auditorium on Mt. Blue Campus.

Farmington Town Meeting Monday will decide Public Works staffing
Selectmen support a proposed budget for 2023 that adds a new foreman position under Public Works. The Budget Committee's proposal includes three new staff members which would cost $98,730 more.
