Brunswick Veterans Plaza opens, honoring all who served
What started as an idea for a Purple Heart monument on the Brunswick Mall, proposed by local veterans Gil Ormsby and Chick Ciciotte, quickly grew into an entire plaza honoring not just those who were wounded or who served in combat, but every person who took an oath to protect the United States.

Proposed Freeport development would add more than 500 homes to largely rural residential area
The development, still in the earliest planning stages, proposes 329 single-family houses, 60 apartment units in five buildings, 140 homes in 70 duplex buildings and eight commercial lots off Desert and Old County Road. The development would require a zoning change, which the planning board will be discussing next week.

Grant helps Crystal Spring Farm switch business model, zeroes in on carrots, blueberries
The carrots will be distributed to 16 Hannaford locations this fall and winter and the blueberry conserve, plus any other products that might follow, are available at Morning Glory Natural Foods in Brunswick and Bow Street Market in Freeport.
