Wilton Parks & Rec receives $100K donation from Judith Bjorn

The Wilton Parks and Recreation Committee is considering multiple ideas on how to spend the donation, including renovations for facilities and venues like the town's basketball court and buildings at Kineowatha Park. They are also looking for input from the community.

Wilton to explore merger of North Jay, Wilton water departments

The Wilton Select Board acted to send to the North Jay Water District Trustees with contingencies in order for Wilton to move forward in exploration of combining the Wilton and North Jay water departments.

Wilton Select Board brainstorms on spending ARPA funds

The board suggested spending some of the $418,000 it will receive from ARPA on funding for broadband, pay raises/bonuses for front-line workers like police, firefighters and grocery-store workers, or funding for stay-at-home parents unable to work because they can't afford childcare services.

Wilton Select Board brainstorms American Rescue Plan Act spending ideas

Wilton has received $209,000 of the total $418,000 it expects to get under the American Rescue Plan Act.

Wilton again closes Transfer Station’s Share Shack

The Wilton Select Board also approved a motion to change the transfer station's Wednesday hours to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wilton Select Board sets marijuana licensing fees

The board also approved the job description and advertising for a new events-coordinator position. Funding for the position will have to be approved at a special town meeting.

Wilton discusses county commissioners referendum question

State Rep. Randall Hall presented information on the referendum to increase the number of county commissioners and districts in Franklin from three to five.
