Jay Historical Society to meet
JAY — Jay Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Niles Library.
Paul LeBlanc will talk about his hobby of flying pigeons and his and his son Paul’s winning experience in the 1984 Sixth New England Classic race from Ashtabula, Ohio.
The public is welcome to attend and see the pigeons.
Earth Day cleanup for Jay
JAY — The Jay Recreation Committee will hold an Earth Day cleanup from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, to clean up the Whistle Stop Trail.
Those attending should meet at the French Falls Recreation Area across from Spruce Mountain Middle School.
3-C Clothing Giveaway April 29
NORWAY — Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church and the Norway Grange will hold the 3-C Giveaway from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, at the Norway Grange Hall on Whitman Street.
The giveaway will provide free clothes, cookies and coffee. There is also a limited amount of new socks and underwear as well as some household and bedding articles.
This event is open to anyone in need of clothes. There is no income eligibility required to come to this event.
Donations may be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 24 to 28, at the Norway Grange. There is a great need for new underwear and socks.

Oxford Historical Society meeting
OXFORD — Oxford Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Kay House Museum/Oxford Historical Society, 73 Pleasant St.
Following the meeting, the Guest Speaker will be Kim Camous presenting on the book written by Lewis L. Keene, “Boyhood Life on a Maine Farm in Waterford, Maine” at 6:30 p.m.
The public is welcome. New members can join for $5 a year, or $100 lifetime membership.

Family financial aid presentation
FARMINGTON — A college financial aid information presentation for the parents of Mt. Blue High School students will be given by a representative from the Financial Aid Office at the University of Maine at Farmington at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the MBC Forum.
The presentation will include information on the financial aid application process, types and sources of financial aid, and time for questions.
Following the presentation there will be an ice cream social in the Food Court.

SMH Run for Wellness 5k
NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will hold its fifth annual Run for Wellness 5K on Sunday, June 4.
Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K begins at 9 a.m. in front of the Ripley Medical Office Building at 193 Main St.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. Certificates will be presented at the end of the race for the top three male and female runners in each age category.
There will be a free Kids’ Fun Run for ages 13 years and younger. It will cover approximately 1 mile and begin at 8:15 a.m. Registration will be on race day.
Cost is $15 per person if registered prior to race day. Race-day registration will be $20 per person.
