Sidewalk construction will restart in downtown Rangeley on Oct. 5, according to a Facebook post from the town office.
The focus will be from Lake Street to the Alpine Shop. In addition to the construction, a new crosswalk with flashing lights will be installed in front of Rangeley Lakes Builders Supply. An ADA compliant parking space will be created in front of Sarge’s Sports Pub & Grub.
This is the second phase of construction in a sidewalk improvement project that began this spring, with lanes closed to traffic between Allen Street and Mike Cerminara Landscaping on Main Street.
Work should be confined to the shoulders of Main Street, with the possibility of occasional lane closures, except for the crosswalk, which will require single-lane closures to get both halves of the street painted, town manager Joe Roach said.
The downtown work is projected to take three weeks, depending on weather, the post said.
