Kathleen Alice Donahue Crump
ANDOVER – Kathleen Alice Donahue Crump, 78, went to God on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at the Rumford Hospital. She resided in Andover, Maine.
Born in Somerville, Mass. on May 6, 1948, she was a daughter to Paula Drew Wixon and Philip Thomas Donahue, Sr. She graduated from Arlington Mass. High School and went on to Boston University and several other schools over the years. She worked as a legal secretary, a medical secretary, and held several positions at a small community hospital in Everett, Mass. where she helped care for her neighbors for 20 years.
She retired to Andover in 1998 with her brother, Kelly Donahue, where she enjoyed the quiet, peaceful nature of the area and being near family. She was active in the Rumford United Methodist Church, and in local quilting groups where she participated in many charitable endeavors. Quilting was her passion and solace over the years, stitching the events of her life into many quilts for family and strangers near and far. Many dear friends in the quilting community enriched her life tremendously.
Special thanks to brother Brad and his wife Corrine for sharing their beautiful land (and their beautiful hearts) with all the family over the years.
She was predeceased by her mother, Paula Wixon, father Philip Donahue, Sr., dear stepmother Sylvia Donahue, and brothers Philip Donahue, Sr., and Walter Downs, Jr.
She is survived by her brother and best friend Kelly Donahue, sister, Darlene Fitzgerald, brother Bradley Downs and wife Corrine; a beloved niece Carla Donahue, and many nieces, nephews grand nieces and nephews who were all a joy to her as she watched them grow and mature.
Friends and family are invited to share memories of Kathleen at http://www.meaderandson.com.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at the Virgin Memorial Chapel of the Rumford United Methodist Church on Linnell Street in Rumford. Interment will be in the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru.
