Brunswick won the clash of the top two teams in the Varsity Maine boys soccer poll, so it’s no surprise the Dragons are now the unanimous No. 1. They took over first place last week, but only by one point over Lewiston. But after Brunswick’s 3-2 victory over the Blue Devils last Tuesday, every voter picked the Dragons No. 1 and Lewiston No. 2.

Brunswick is the first unanimous No. 1 in the 2026 boys soccer rankings. In the previous four polls, the first-place votes have been split fairly evenly each week. By the way, Brunswick and Lewiston face off again Thursday in Brunswick.

Thornton Academy, the final unbeaten team in Class A South, jumps from fifth to third. Edward Little moves from seventh to sixth, and Scarborough from 10th to seventh.

Hall-Dale joins the rankings for the first time this fall. The Bulldogs have won seven straight since dropping their season opener to Monmouth Academy.

The Varsity Maine boys soccer poll is based on games played before Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.

5. Gorham 53
