In rebuttal: Louis Talarico: Trump ‘a full-blown narcissist, liar’
I write in response to Deborah Diltz’s letter attempting to defend Donald Trump’s outrageous conduct and behavior (“Letter’s insults, attacks on Trump ‘unworthy of publication’,” Aug. 28). Suffice it to say that Trump is, without a doubt, a prime example of a full-blown narcissist, liar, and so much more. He’s so involved and in love […]

Tim Lajoie: Lewiston needs LaChapelle in state Senate
Lewiston’s representation in Augusta has been there a long time, but it’s done little to change Lewiston’s direction. And it needs it. Rick LaChapelle wants to inspire that change as state senator. He’s committed to helping Lewiston residents build a thriving economy — leading to economic independence for Lewiston families, making streets safe and free […]

Derek Cutter: Gov. Mills needs to end vaccine mandate
It has been nearly a year since Gov. Janet Mills’ vaccine mandate for health care workers went into affect. Leonard Pitts Jr.: Trying to persuade Trump Republicans is a waste of time
Granted, that’s an ominous conclusion. After all, if reasoning is no longer a possibility, you are left only two options for resolving political differences: to impose one side’s will by force of arms or by weight of electoral dominance, i.e., by voting the other side into oblivion.

Cindy Larock: Rotundo ‘is absolutely deserving’ of Lewiston voter support
For 16 years, the citizens of Lewiston were blessed to have Peggy Rotundo representing them in Augusta, first as a member of the Senate and then the House of Representatives. After taking a well-earned break, she is now prepared to resume her hard work in the Legislature as a candidate for the Senate. A strong […]
